We will be leaving at 10:30am for a drive to Bakewell for lunch and a wonder round. There is no specific place for lunch but there is plenty of choice.
After lunch we will be heading out for a scenic drive to our evening meal at Sutton Hall for 5:30pm. Please confirm with myself if you are joining us for the evening meal so I can confirm numbers with the venue. Pre-orders are not required

Donington Historic Festival: Saturday 29th and Sunday the 30th of April

Donington Park will reverberate to the inimitable sound of classic racing engines when the Donington Historic Festival roars into action on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 April. The action-packed timetable has just been released, enabling fans to plan their visit to this hugely popular, family-friendly, historic motor racing event. And, with discount tickets available for the club, you can bag a bargain!
Highlights include the epic endurance battle that is the Royal Automobile Club Pall Mall Cup, a whole host of races featur-ing Touring Car grids from the 1950s to the late 1990s, the ‘Mad Jack’ race for pre-War sports cars, the glorious combined grid for the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy for pre-56 sportscars and Stirling Moss Trophy for pre-61 sports rac-ers, a round of the enormously entertaining Jaguar Classic Challenge and no less than three Ferrari-only races, when the Superformance Ferrari Club Classic Series joins the DHF line-up for the first time.
In addition to the spectacular, world-class race action, the event features track displays and parades, an open-access paddock and pitlane walks, a trade village, plus the presence of hundreds of cherished classic cars in displays staged by dozens of car clubs.
BOOKING INFORMATION CLUB DISPLAY VEHICLE AND TICKET BOOKING DEADLINE: 5pm Sunday 16 April 2023
1. Go to: https://www.displaymyvehicle.com/shows/2023/donington-historic
2. Create your MSV account, or login if you already have an account. When you get to the page that asks ‘who are you displaying with?’ select ‘With a club’ then select our club’s name from the list
3. CAR DETAILS: Add the details of the vehicle/s you will be bringing to display on the club stand. As you are booking with a club, there is no age limit for the vehicle you are bringing – it can be classic or brand new, provided it is appropriate to your club!
4. TICKET SELECTION: IMPORTANT – the online club ordering system automatically puts one combined adult driver entry ticket/display vehicle parking pass for your chosen day/days into your shopping basket before you get to the ticket selection area. This ticket gives entry to both the driver and their car. So, when you get to ticket selection, just select any passenger entry tickets that you may need.
5. In the shopping basket you will see any additional tickets you have chosen showing as entry tickets and your combined driver entry ticket/parking pass will show as a vehicle display pass (shown at the price for an entry ticket). The tickets will automatically be discounted by 50% so you don’t need to enter any club code. Please note, there is no telephone booking facility, and the club discount is only available to those bringing a display vehicle (and their vehicle passengers). Need to amend the details of your registered display car once you have bought your driver entry ticket? Email events@msv.com and they will be able to change the vehicle details in their system and issue a replacement combined display parking pass/driver entry ticket for you. Need additional parking only passes (not additional com-bined driver entry tickets/parking passes)? For example, if you have bought your driver entry ticket/parking pass but plan to bring a different car on each of the two days of the event so need a pass that will allow you to park a different car to that listed on your combined driver entry ticket/parking pass

About Us - an intro from Chris

This is just a brief note to welcome you to the Cheshire & Staffs regional group of The Independent Porsche Enthusiasts Club.

It’s great to welcome new members to the club and I thought a brief intro to the region may be helpful to get the most out of your membership with the club. We have a varied calendar of events from day trips out in the Peak District and North Wales, to Weekends away in Scotland, to Chippy Tea runs on a Friday night to Sunday Coffee Mornings all punctuated with our monthly meeting at 8:00pm on the third Tuesday of each month currently held at the Kilton Inn on Warrington Road at Mere near Knutsford. We regularly see 35 to 40 or so members at the winter meetings rising to 65 to 75 in the summer. Having said that, the Christmas meal was a busy one with 54 members dining at the Kilton Inn and another 12 or so joining for drinks and a chat afterwards.

For my part in Tipec, I took on the mantle of Regional Organiser around 6 years ago. I am a relatively recent member to the club joining 9 years ago when I bought my Porsche 968 although the fleet soon expanded with a 924 Rothmans Rally Replica, a 944 Cabriolet and a Boxster – all providing immense amounts of fun and enjoyment on the club outings. Another 944 Coupe has been added to the fleet although she joined as a non runner and is very much a project. A Series 2 928 is the latest acquisition and an equally big learning curve!

I am ably supported by Assistant Regional Organisers, Gareth Aldridge and Stef Mahan who also have a fleet of transaxle Porsches including a Cassis 928 S4, a 986 Boxster S a Silver Rose 944 Turbo and more recently a 996 C4S Cabriolet.

There’s certainly a lot of hands-on members in the region which is a great help to many owners. The love of the marque and the enjoyment we share in meeting up and days out makes the club what it is and we’d love for you to share and enjoy in that as well.

The club forum is a busy place as is our regions Facebook page where we share details of upcoming events and days out, the link to that page is below.

We all look forward to meeting you soon, please feel free to get in touch as and when needed.

Regards

Chris
